And the winner is...

Hi everyone,

πŸ† We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Baseline Tooling Hackathon! We were incredibly impressed by all the projects submitted, showcasing the innovative ways developers are integrating Baseline data to accelerate the adoption of modern web features πŸš€

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, whether you finished your project or not πŸ™. Your efforts contribute to making the web a better place for all developers 🌍

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our winners:

  • πŸ₯‡First place: eslint-plugin-baseline-js impressively solves the critical problem of enforcing JavaScript browser compatibility (Baseline) directly in the editor and CI πŸ–₯️. It provides a single, configurable ESLint plugin that cleverly checks API availability by year, even using TypeScript for high-precision, type-aware analysis. This focused tool makes it practical to ensure core features actually run for all users, preventing accessibility gaps where JavaScript might otherwise fail πŸ‘

  • πŸ₯ˆSecond place: baseline-mcp delivers an impressive MCP server built with Node.js and TypeScript, designed to provide AI assistants πŸ€– with structured tools and prompts for querying Baseline web feature data. It intelligently pre-processes information using custom tools, going beyond a simple data wrapper to offer more digestible and useful context on web standards and browser compatibility. The completed work, which includes a functional SvelteKit demo client, represents a fantastic accomplishment in overcoming the steep learning curve of building and integrating a full MCP system from scratch 🧠

  • πŸ₯‰Third place: Baseline Status for Video - project delivers an online tool helping tech video creators πŸ“Ή easily display the <baseline-status> web component in their content. The application allows users to record the status widget with in/out animations against a green screen, producing a video file that can be seamlessly imported and chroma keyed in editing software 🎬

Don't forget to check out the Project Gallery to see all the amazing work from our participants!

Feedback winners will be notified via email if they won πŸ“¬- thank you to everyone who provided feedback.
